Pepsi-Cola Philippines to enter the food industry

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI), the famous beverage maker, has formalized to enter to into the food industry as it sets to undertaking the snack food business in the Philippines.

PCPPI with its board of directors has approved plans to invest in the company’s proposed Snack food industry. The investment will also involve plants for manufacturing, sale and distribution system of snack food in the country. PepsiCo beverages of the Philippines will open a manufacturing plant in Sto.Tomas in Batangas, and expected to start to operate later part of 2014.

The PCPPI’s will compete with the big names in snack food business like the market leader Universal Robina Corp. of the Gokongwei Group.

“The inclusion of ‘food and food products, snacks’ in the primary purpose clause of the Articles of Incorporation will allow the Corporation to further build and expand its business and future markets venturing into product lines that will compliment its existing business,” the PCPPI stated.
PCPPI is a licensee of PepsiCo, Inc. and Pepsi Lipton International Ltd in the Philippines. There famous bottled products are Pepsi-Cola, Premier, 7Up, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Lipton, MUG, Gatorade, Tropicana/Twister, Propel and Sting.

PCPPI has established manufacturing facilities all over the country, serving at least 500,000 outlets and providing employment through its extensive distribution network.
