Okura and Bayshore City Resorts World to build a 380-rooom five-star hotel in PH

Japanese hotel chain Okura Hotels & Resorts pounded a deal with Bayshore City Resorts World to build a 380-room and to manage their first five-star hotel in the Philippines.

Bayshore City Resorts World is an upcoming integrated resort and casino facility owned by Travellers International Hotel Group Inc.

Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange it formalized a partnership with Hotel Okura to manage and operate the Japanese hotel chain in the Philippines to be called Hotel Okura Manila and will be constructed in Entertainment City in Parañaque .The construction of the Hotel here in the Philippines is part of an overseas strategy of Okura to focus on developing Asian markets following the launch of five-star Okura hotels in Macau in 2011 and Bangkok in 2012.

The planned 380 room hotel will cover approximately 38,000 square meters at the Bayshore City Resorts World in Entertainment City on a reclaimed part of Manila Bay.

According to the disclosure, Hotel Okura donated $100,000 to the Philippine Red Cross for the recovery of regions affected by recent natural disasters as a gesture of goodwill between Philippines and Japan.
Travellers International owns 95 percent and also the operator of the first integrated resort in the country Bayshore City Resorts World that is expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2018.
