Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing live stream on the Makati City Parking Building & Science HS

The probe on the alleged overpricing of the 11-storey new Makati City Hall II Parking Building continues on Tuesday November 18 at 9:00 AM, at the Session Hall 2/F Left Wing, Senate of the Philippines.

Vice President Jojemar Binay snubbed the invitation of the mother committee headed by Senator Teofisto Guingona in the last hearing. After the hearing was adjourned, the sub-committee continued its investigation about the alleged anomalous transactions in Makati City during the tenure of the Vice President then-Mayor.

In today’s hearing, the agenda would continue on the Makati City Parking Building II but more time probably would be given to the Makati Science High School building which Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV always said that was also overpriced.

Members of the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee members, Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III and Sen. Trillanes, went on for an ocular inspection of the New Makati Science Building during the weekend.

Trillanes said the city government of Makati used P1.3 billion for the construction of the MSHS building. The cost per classroom as computed would be equivalent to P24.6 million, which he said appears to be too expensive.

Expected to attend on Tuesday’s hearing are professional assessors and quantity surveyors. The first seven floors were being used for laboratories, classrooms, faculty room as and other school facilities. The eight floor is utilized for the 20 room dormitory, which can fill in 240 students having 12 students per room. However, these rooms are not yet being utilized.
