MNF Schedule: Saints vs Bears tv coverage, odds, pointspread, scores, New Orleans need to win

Monday Night Football (MNF) features the New Orleans Saints against the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field, Chicago, Ill.

While both Chicago and New Orleans have the same record at 5-8, they have different status in the playoff standings. New Orleans, with a playoff hope, is on top of the NFC South, Chicago, on the other hand,  is out of the race.

Coming off from a 41-10 loss at home to Carolina last Sunday, the Saints need to bounce back on the road against the struggling Bears. A win for the Saints will distance rivals in the division like Atlanta (5-9), Carolina (5-8-1). And the Saints will meet Atlanta at home next week. Thus, this is a very important game for New Orleans.

The winner of the division will surely be the fifth division champion with a non-winning record, all the teams already have at least eight losses. What is necessary for the Saints would be to outlast the Bears in tonight’s Monday Night Football.

The Saints have a decent offense, averaging 297.3 in passing (3rd in the league) and 123.7 in rushing (8th in the league). The problem of the Saints is on the defense who are 30th in passing, allowing 265.2 yards a game, and 28th in rushing, yielding 133.5 yards.

For the Bears, it’s about winning this game despite having no chance at the playoff at all. Coach Marc Trestman’s job is also in the hotseat as he was not able to carry the Bears into the playoff in the last four years.

Also, quarterback Jay Cutler has something to play for. With his large contract, Cutler has to prove that he has something left on his tank to play as the quarterback of the Bears.

Monday Night Football MNF tv schedule is on ESPN. MNF start time is at 8:30 PM. MNF scores and highlights will be posted here after the conclusion of the game.
