Typhoon Ruby to hit Metro Manila on Monday

Metro Manila will experience stormy weather on Monday as Typhoon Ruby continues its path after smashing Eastern Visayas and Bicol Regions on Saturday and Sunday.

Ruby was located 110 km Northwest of Mastbate City or at 50 km Northeast of Romblon, Romblon packing a maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph and it moves West Northwest at slow pace of 10 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on its 4:00 AM Monday weather bulletin update.

The weather bureau released Typhoon Ruby’s Public Storm Warning Signals. Signal No. 3 with winds of 100-185 kph is expected in at least 18 hours is raised to Burias Island, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Batangas, Laguna,Cavite, Southern Quezon and Lubang Island.

Public Storm Warning signal No. 2 with winds of 61-100 kph are as follows: Masbate, Ticao Island, Calamian Grp. of Islands, Bulacan,Bataan, Northern Quezon, Rizal, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Semirara Island, Aklan, Capiz and Metro Manila.

Public Storm Warning Signal No.1 with winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours are as follows: Albay, Sorsogon, Polillo Island, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Catanduanes, Northern Palawan including Cuyo, Northern Samar, Iloilo, Antique, Biliran and Bantayan Island.

PAGASA also added that expected third landfall is on Northern Mindoro between 6 – 8 pm today and it will be associated with strong winds, storm surge and moderate to heavy rainfall.
