NBC Super Bowl Ads To Hit Tumblr Too

The Super Bowl ads will also appear on Yahoo’s Tumblr. All the TV commercials can now be found in one place, but only after those are aired over the television. One main benefit for the fans is to watch instant replay after the ads are played on the television. They can find it on Tumblr.

While launching the Tumblr page for the Super Bowl commercials, NBC Sports digital said the ads will immediately be made available on Tumblr after the airing during broadcast of the game on February 1 in Glendale, Ariz.

As of now the dedicated ads page, NBC Sports carries content created by the marketing media of NBC Sports apart from some of the re-blogs of NFL-related Tumblr posts. However, on the game day this page will become a hub for the Super Bowl TV ads.

Not to forget that the NBC Sports will also be live streaming Super Bowl XLIX to tablets, smartphones and desktops, but not all the ads shown here will be the same as that of TV broadcast.

NBC Sports Digital has also explained it very clearly that only the TV ads will be made available on the Tumblr page. This will give the online viewers an opportunity to look at what the larger audience are viewing and talking about.

Senior VP and general manager of digital media for NBC Sports, Rick Corde, said they recognize their TV commercials are a must-see content and they have chosen Tumblr to do this as it is a visually rich and socially friendly platform to showcase the Super Bowl TV ads. It is one another way to connect to the digital audience in a seamless manner.

He added further that they are optimistic about the new Tumblr page and this is the first step for them in coming up with more robust NBC Sports destination on Tumblr. This will be a great new for the fans too who like watching the commercials.

Apart from the Tumblr page, viewers can see the ads on several other places too such as on YouTube, Hulu and on Facebook too.

Lately it has been seen NBC is trying to push its digital offerings around the Super Bowl of 2015 and it is learned without any surprise that the digital ad sales for it have doubled since 2012.

Earlier in a press conference the VP of sales and marketing for NBC Sports Group and NBCUniversal News Group, Seth Winter, had said the digital ads were sold out and they wished to have more assets to advertise around.

Why not, as one of the biggest draws of Super Bowl are its ads.

In 2012 NBC Sports Digital created a similar page too for the Super Bowl XLVI broadcast and it was dubbed as Super Bowl Ad Blitz. More than 1.83 million ads were watched then via video-on-demand.
