Auto giant BMW too coming with commercials during Super Bowl

Last year, ahead of the Super Bowl, at least two months before, news prevailed about automotive-focused Super Bowl commercials. This year things are different. Yet no teasers have arrived even tough manufacturers are reported to have lined up for the spots, making intentions very clear.

As of now only BMW has been heard saying they are ready to air a 60-second spot during the Super Bowl. The auto giant is learned to be promoting its i3 during first quarter of the game.

Last time BMW booked spot in the Super Bowl was some four years ago. The Munich firm remained absent thereafter and now has reappeared for its i3 brand.

In a statement BMW said, “Big ideas like the BMW i3 take a little getting used to, and the creative idea surrounding our spot will play on this analogy.”

The company further added that pitching the i3 hatchback during beer-iest Super Bowl surely will be making some neat commentary afterward.

Meanwhile, it is also reported Lexus too is booking a spot for its new NX crossover in the second Super Bowl commercial. Amid glitter of celebrities and glamor the tagline of it goes as: “Be seen, be heard, make some noise.”

The other auto giants who stand tall with their commercials to air during the event are Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota.

Last year there were a total of eleven brands with commercials to be aired during Super Bowl, but this year it is wrapped up with just six carmakers even though car spots made up a quarter of the total ad time.

It is reported 30 seconds ad costs around $4.5 million this year, which is from $4 million of last year.
