Hapee whips Cagayan Valley in Game One

Manila, Philippines – Ola Adeogun had 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Hapee Fresh Fighters in a 82-74 victory over Cagayan Valley Rising Suns in Game One of the best-of-three PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Finals Monday at the Arena in San Juan.

Adeogun powered through inside and he was not contained. He was also 11 of 12 from the free throw line to help Hapee grabbed Game One, a shy away from the title.

To compliment Adeogun, MVP Ray Parks added six points and five rebounds while Troy Rosario scored 16 points and grabbed four rebounds for Hapee.

The Fresh Fighters had all the momentum in the game as they built a 20-point lead until the Rising Suns cut the lead down to four in the third quarter, 50-46.

Moala Tautuaa had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Cagayan Valley. He played against Adeogun at the low-post and got his numbers.

Hapee countered with a run in the fourth quarter that increased the lead into double figures.

The Fresh Fighters started well in the first quarter in a 15-0 spurt to have a 29-11 advantage. The lead reached to 20 points at 35-15 in the second quarter.

“Ola and Troy have been our workhorses,” said Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc. “Rebounding, interior defense, I could not ask for more from them except to finish the race for us.”
