Jeremy Lin free agency, not ruling out Los Angeles Lakers in exit interview

Jeremy Lin’s future is unknown until the start of the NBA Free Agency on July 1. Lin played 74 games with the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Though he was not satisfied coming from the bench, Lin averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 assists and 1.1 stills while shooting 42.4 percent from the field.

Lin stated in his exit interview about his status as unrestricted free agent:

“I know how fast things change in this league. There were times when I thought I would never be a part of this league.” Lin added that returning to the Lakers is a possibility: “I’m not ruling anything out, and I don’t know where I’m going to be next year.”

Lin became popular when he played with the New York Knicks. He made a name for himself in bolstering the offense of the Knicks, playing along Carmelo Anthony. After that season, Lin was one of the most coveted point guards. He was acquired by the Houston Rockets, coming from the Knicks. Lin played a major role in the Rockets. He then was picked by the Lakers to play with Kobe Bryant.

In the free agency, the Lakers might consider Lin to be back in the roster to play with the other acquired free agents. With a healthy Kobe Bryant and another veteran player, Lin and the Lakers might find their way to the playoffs.

Nobody knows what is in the mind of Jeremy Lin. He may want to stay with the purple and gold uniform but he won’t tell us now until the free agency starts. Lin plays well in a system that fits his game and coach Byron Scott needs to tweak his system to accommodate “Linsanity”.
