PGA US Open Leaderboard 2015: Stenson, Johnson tie, Tiger Woods starts to fall

Henrik Stenson and Dustin Johnson are deadlocked at 5-under-par 65 after finishing the first round of the US Open Championship at the Chambers Bay. Johnson was one of the leaders from the start until Stenson rallied to be on top.

Stenson started it right when he birdied the second and third holes but he falters in the sixth and eight holes that ended up two bogeys. At the back nine, Stenson showed his poise when he putted the 14th, 15th, 16th and 18th holes for birdies. Meanwhile, Johnson had six birdies and one bogey, and the rest are pars to complete the round.

Patrick Reed finished the day with 4-under-par 66 to stay in behind the two leaders. Matt Kuchar ended the first round with 3-under par 67.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson was among the early leaders with his 3-under-par at the front nine. Mickelson faded at the back nine when he bogeyed the 10th, 13th and 14th holes.

World’s No. 1 Rory McIlroy struggled the whole day with four bogeys and only two birdies. McIlroy hopes to bounce back in Round 2.

Tiger Woods is one of the players that tee around 5:00 PM ET. Woods currently is at 5-over-par after five holes, bogeying the 1st, second and fourth holes. Woods has a lot of works to come up with a low score. Surely, the former No. 1 needs to climb in the next holes.
