2015 College World Series Virginia vs Arkansas TV Schedule, Preview

The Virginia Cavaliers will meet the Arkansas Razorbacks in today’s College World Series (CWS) at 3:00 PM ET at the TD Ameritrade Ballpark, Omaha, Nebraska.

Arkansas (39-22) will start Keaton McKinney (6-2, 3.27 ERA) at the mound. Arkansas prides itself with powerful lineup with eight of nine starters hitting above .280, that include College World Series batting leader Andrew Benintendi (.380). Benintendi also shares the lead in home runs with 19 in the season. Benintendi’s home run arsenal will be tested because there were only three home runs in 2014 CWS.

Meanwhile, Virginia (40-23) is in the College World Series despite of having problems in the pitching staff. Plagued by injuries at the major spot in the the sports. Two of top pitchers of the Cavs Dominic Taccolini and James Teague are out of the CWS, while No. 2 starter Keaton McKinney has been lingering with hip soreness and has pitched for a combined 6 2/3 innings in the last three games. Thus, Virginia is not expected to finish the CWS at the top.

Connor Jones (7-2, 2.96 ERA) will start for Virginia. Jones has 105 strikeouts in 103.1 innings pitched this season. He has to make the difference against the high percentage at bats of the Razorbacks.
