Jordan Spieth wins US Open in a dramatic way: US Open 2015 Final Leaderboard

Jordan Spieth captured the US Open title to etch his name in history on Sunday, joining Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Craig Wood and Ben Hogan as the only golfers who win the Masters and US Open in the same year.

Call it a miracle but Spieth ended up victorious. The 21-year-old was tied with Branden Grace at -5-under-par, but had three stroke-advantage after the hole. Grace ended up putting a double-bogey while Spieth drilled in a birdie to go 6-under-par. In one of the twists of the day, Spieth double-bogeyed the 17th hole. He entered the 18th hole to have a birdie to win the tournament.

Spieth pulled off his second shot on the par 5 to 15 feet but just missed his eagle putt on the low side. He cleaned up for birdie to post a 5-under 275 and waited, sweating out Dustin Johnson, who was one stroke back and in the fairway.

Johnson also had an eagle opportunity on 18 but missed. He then pushed a birdie putt just wide of the hole, putting the championship in Spieth’s name.

Jordan Spieth becomes the youngest to win Masters and US Open, youngest to win US Open sinc 1923 and youngest to win second major since 1922.
