USA vs Germany Women’s World Cup 2015: TV Schedule and Preview

Two powerhouses worthy of a final, but only one of USA and Germany will get into the 2015 Women’s World Cup title game as they meet in the semifinal round on Tuesday at 8:00 PM in Montreal.

Because of the abilities of both teams to find ways to win games, nobody can tell which has the edge. Germany has been great in front of goals, while USA has be strong at the back.

Great news for the United States, Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday are back in the lineup after being suspended in the semi-final. Coach Jill Ellis will have a better roster than what she possessed in the quarterfinal against China.

USA forward Alex Morgan (via FIFA): “The two best teams in the world are coming face to face. It’s virtually a final. Germany are a great side. We’ve watched nearly all of their games, and they’re very strong in defense and dangerous in the air and with the ball at their feet. We need to watch out for the knockdowns too and for Celia Sasic and Anja Mittag, who are both a big threat up front.”

Germany head coach Silvia Neid (via ESPN FC): “The USA are so very convinced about themselves. Americans are naturally loud. Maybe I’m just focused, but I can assure you I’m not unhappy. So maybe I don’t look like I’m relaxing on a sun lounger, but it’s nothing to do with being unhappy. Let me have a go at getting my body language a bit better [Tuesday].”

To get to the semis, Germany overpowered France on penalty kicks 5-4 after remaining tied at 1-1 in regulation. The United States overwhelmed China by a final of 1-0, thanks to a second half header from Karli Lloyd and their stringent defense throughout the game. Before that, Alex Morgan led the U.S. defeat Colombia 2-0, while Germany defeated Sweden 4-1 in the Round of 16. Goals reproduced from player of the match Anja Mittag, as well as Dzsenifer Marozsan and Celia Sasic.
