NFL Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez compete to start, Tim Tebow, Matt Barkley release or trade?

The Philadelphia Eagles have four quarterbacks going into the training camp for the elimination process. Though coach Chip Kelly put an edge on Sam Bradford, still Mark Sanchez has a chance to sneak in into the starter if he plays well.

Also, Kelly has to make a decision on Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley who are battling for the third string. While it would be difficult for the Eagles to retain both of them, one might be traded or releases.

The Eagles fell short of their goal last season of even getting into the playoffs. Thus, the Eagles have be active in the offseason by acquiring players, including running back DeMarco Murray. Now the dilemma for Kelly arises on his quarterbacks.

Bradford’s injury might be the only hindrance for him to start. He has been recovering from knee surgery, but expected to be ready for camp. If he is not healthy, Sanchez will surely be the starting quarterback. Kelly earlier said in CSN Philly that the two quarterbacks are “openly competing” for the starting quarterback position.

While Bradford is on top of the chart, he could be dislodged if Sanchez plays better. Sanchez has been showing leadership this offseason, as he is playing a west coast workout for the Eagles, according to Pro Football Talk. NJ.com reports that Sanchez is working out with a number of offensive players, including Barkley, Darren Sproles, Jordan Matthews and GJ Kinne.

Meanwhile, deeper problem lies between Barkley and Tebow. Surely, Tebow can overthrow Barkley out of his job last season. Tebow was acquired this offseason and coach Kelly believes that he can play. Moreover, Tebow is more of a mobile quarterback who can be used in different ways.
