AlDub ‘Tamang Panahon’ shatters world Twitter record ?

AlDub continues to captivate Twitter users around the world as it shattered Twitter’s record for most numbers of tweets in 24 hours with 39.5 million tweets on October 24, Philippine Standard Time, according to media outlets, but they have to consider the span of time the tweets were counted for the game between Brazil and Germany.

The duo of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards together with the Eat Bulaga team amazingly produced a program at Philippine Arena, known as the biggest indoor stadium in the world, that instigated the Twitter users and Aldub fans in all the corners of the earth to tweet with the hashtag #ALDubEBTamangPanahon, and that it dominated Twitter trends in that day.

Of course, the AlDub fans didn’t tweet just for the purpose of hitting the mark. The lovers of AlDub tweeted because of the high anticipation and eventually the beauty of the show which was perfectly prepared for the audience at the Arena and for those who were  at their homes.

AlDub October 24 edition with the hashtag #ALDubEBTamangPanahon reached 39.5 million and broke the FiFa World Cup qualifier game between Germany and Brazil in July, 2014 with 36.5 million tweets, according to reports, but wait a minute.

There’s no announcement from Twitter confirming AlDub legitimately breaks the Twitter record. Some people say that the Fifa game between Germany and Brazil tweets came only during the game, lasted 92 minutes. According to BleacherReport, the Germany vs Brazil game average of tweets per second was at 6,449. Of course, the pregame and postgame tweets were not counted.

Let’s wait for Twitter announcement if AlDub really breaks the most number of tweets in 24 hours. Though there’s a big possibility if the pregame and postgame tweets were short of 3.9 million.
