chicago leads 5-0 at the bottom of 6th.
The Cleveland Indians are hosting the Chicago Cubs in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday, start time at 7:00 PM ET, at Progressive Field.
The Cleveland Indians are coming from a 6-0 Game One victory through their dominant pitching staff that tamed the Cubs. Pitcher Corey Kluber and relievers Andrew Miller and Cody Allen yielded seven hit shuthout to make things happen. Offensively, catcher Roberto Perez posted two home runs to derail the defense of the Cubs.
Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.26 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for the Indians.
“It feels fine,” said Bauer on Tuesday. “I through a sim game yesterday. I threw about 20 pitches. Threw it with max intent, just like in a game, as close to game intensity as I could possibly get to. There’s no pain, no blood. I was able to execute all my pitches to a high level, and I’m really encouraged by it. I feel like I’m on a regular preparation for my start tomorrow.”
Ace pitcher Jake Arrieta (18-8, 3.10 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for the Cubs. With his aggressive pitching, the Cubs are hoping to tie the series.
Arrieta, the reigning NL Cy Young award winner, has not been very Jake Arrieta-like over the last two months. In his last 10 starts, including the postseason, he has a 4.77 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings. Will he be able to win it for the Cubs?
