Pacquiao vs Vargas start time, live stream: tv channel schedule, Pay-Per-view Online is available, DIRECTV

For the first time in his career, Manny Pacquiao will be fighting in the boxing ring as both a boxer and a Philippine senator against California-native and reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas in tonight’s showdown at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Filipino fighter Pacquiao is coming out of retirement after he tried his luck in the Philippine election last May in which he emerged as one of the winners. Like many fighters are doing, retiring then when an opportunity calls, they are back in the ring, so what Pacquiao did.

Pacquiao said, ” It’s motivating because I am the challenger this time and I am fighting a champion. [Winning the belt back] would mean a lot and would bring honor to my country.”

Vargas captured the vacant title in March after beating Sadam Ali in a TKO. Vargas WBO welterweight title is on the line as he faces Pacquiao. While Vargas’s major advantage would be his youth, still he has to be wise and strong enough to overthrow the Filipino southpaw.

Vargas said, “I feel great and I’m here to give the fans a great fight and come out on top and prove I’m the best in the welterweight division.

“We’ve worked hard for this and I have no doubt about the outcome. Manny Pacquiao has had a great career and it would mean the world to beat him, and that is what I am ready to do. I want to become a legend.”

In his last five fights, Vargas went on to record 4-1, losing only to Timothy Bradley on November June 27, 2015. Pacquiao is 4-1 also in his last five bouts, losing only to Floyd Mayweather in that controversial rich fight in November 2014.

Pacquiao is a prohibitive favorite according to the numbers guys at sports.Bovada.lv. It’ll take a $750 wager to return $100 on him, while a $475 outlay on Vargas would return $700 for an upset.
