Duterte and Philippine Presidential Election, 5th most-talked Topic on Facebook 2016

 

Facebook, the social media giant recently disclosed its annual list of most discussed and shared topics for the year on their network. Rodrigo Duterte & Philippine Presidential Election was the 5th most talked about topic globally, while US presidential election grabbed the top place under the list.

According to Facebook, the annual list were measured on how often a topic was mentioned by users on Facebook posts throughout the year, starting from January 1st and ending 8th December 2016. Before disclosing the list, the posts with most mentions were evaluated in a combined way and ranked to make a snapshot of the year on the social media network.

“To put this list together, mentions were analyzed in an aggregated, anonymized way and then ranked to create a snapshot of the year on Facebook,” it said.

Here are the Top 10 global topics shared and discussed on Facebook 2016:
