LeBron James faces Kevin Durant in the Finals again

The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers are playing in the NBA Finals for the third time in three consecutive years. This is one of the most anticipated NBA Finals as the two dynamic teams are gearing for another showdown that will settle which is really the best after splitting their first two appearances.

LeBron James and the Cavaliers are built for this moment with a retooled roster coming from last seasons NBA Championship. Kyle Korver and Deron Williams are the two biggest additions that created a superb line up that can match any team in the NBA. While their regular season didn’t show much of that flexible roster dominating games, Cavaliers displayed domination in the playoffs with a 12-1 record, losing only the the Boston Celtics.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have found comfort in exploding with Kevin Durant in the most powerful offensive lineup in the season. Curry is averaging 28.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists in the postseason while Durant is having a great playoff run with 25.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. It is understandable that Thompson has a lower production this season with 14.4 points per game because of allowing his two teammates to have more shots. To complete a “Big Four”, there’s no way to discount the output of Draymond Green who is averaging 13.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game.

For the Cavaliers, James remains to be the anchor for the team. James is averaging 32.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Kyrie Irving can take control of the game at any time as he is averaging 24.5 points and 5.6 assists per game. Moreover, Kevin Love also is producing big numbers with 17.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

While the Cavaliers have their “Big Three”, they have reliable supporting casts who can play outside the arc. Channing Frye, JR Smith and Iman Shumpert can spread the offense for James and Irving to penetrate inside.
