Trade and free agency are not part of the Warriors right now for they are in for business. Klay Thompson had 26 points to lead the Warriors in 141-102 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
Thompson was efficient in playing by shooting 11-of-13 and 4-for-5 from outside the arc in 29 minutes of play while Kevin Durant added 23 points in 9-of-13 shooting as Golden State create a separation in the third by outscoring their opponents 49-31.
As usual, Stephen Curry did his part by delivering 19 points while DeMarcus Cousins added 15 points in 17 minutes.Absolutely, the high-powered offense of the Warriors evidently smothered the Spurs. GS has won 13 of its last 14 games to remain in control of the Western Conference standings.
The Spurs couldn’t respond to the Warriors’ offensive attack in the third quarter. Patty Mills scored 16 points with four triples to lead the Spurs while Rudy Gay added 15 points. Davis Bertrand contributed 12 points for San Antonio.
Golden State, which had used three different starting lineups in as many games before Wednesday, were 6-0 with the lineup of Curry, Cousins, Durant, Draymond Green and Thompson. Interestingly, coach Steve Kerr continually experimenting all the possible lineups with the addition of Cousins.
Golden State’s next game would be against the Phoenix Suns while the Spurs will play the Portland Trail Blazers next. San Antonio is currently in the sixth spot of the Western Conference Standings.
